German industrial production fell at its fastest rate in more than two years in September as development shifted into a lower gear during an uncertain summer for manufacturers, though the economy looked primed for a fourth quarter rebound.

U.S job openings rice less than expected in September but remained in territory consistent with an improving labor market as employers actively seek workers.

U.S. natural gas futures fell abruptly, as a mild start to the winter heating season added to concerns over a deepening supply glut.

U.S. stocks pointed to a modestly lower opened morning, as financial markets awaited the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, with most investors cautiously betting on a win by Democrat Hillary Clinton.
